Excellent over the top crime story from the wild days of Acclaim comics when Nicieza was editor throwing spaghetti at the wall. None of it worked to save the company in the end but there were some damn good comics that got made. Punx by Giffen is the obvious one, Shadowman by Ennis, Wood and Delano was another. This piece showcases Gulacy's turn of the millennium style as inked by frequent collaborator Charles Yoakum in glorious black and white on uncoated stock.
This story has it all: corrupt city officials, a lone badass who dates supermodels, crime lords, and an addictive drop that makes people spontaneously combust when they OD. Plus gratuitous eye damage and a praying mantis fighting a spider! Peak Gulacy
