Spotless attention to detail and production values collides with mass market production! V2 was published by Penguin as a digest sized (that slightly changed every issue) series in the early 90s. Nevertheless, Mouly and spiegelman maintained an excellent editorial vision and constantly varied paper stocks to match format (newsprint Panter portfolio! gray cold press for Maus!) or when reproducing Henry Darger notebooks for example, opt for voluminous fold outs.
And of course there's the work itself printed here. Excellent stuff hardly a dud. The Beyer strips sing, including the one written by Alan Moore (!) and Kaz vibrates off the page.
Also of note is the first extension of Here Mcguire would undertake, as well as the commencement of Maus V2. Burns meanwhile publishes Teen Plague, a variant of a recurrent theme.
Condition varies. Multiple significant tics and cuts on the covers. Issue 3 is inscribed in blue ink on the inside front cover and the prices are blacked out on the back.
