Another installment in the evergreen genre of "great comics anthologies"
Now is the spiritual sequel to Fantagraphics' earlier MOME updated for the times we live in, but you already knew that. This particular issue came out summer of 2021 featuring a host of talent. My highlights are are the Julie Gfrörer frontispiece, an extended Tim Lane story to start, MS Harkness, Theo Ellsworth, Joakim Drescher (If you don't know about Motel Universe, CHECK IT OUT), Noah Van Sciver, and many many others. These are all great, but what steals the show is newly published, early comics work from Richard Sala. a brief note explains that this art was found by Daniel Clowes in Sala's archives after he passed. It dates to his time in graduate school at Mills College in the late 70s. Fantastic stuff.
