All Time Comics was an interesting mashup of alt comics cartoonists with old school pros. Masterminded by the Brothers Bayer it is a distinctly odd comic. Reminiscent more than anything of the Atlas/Seaboard comics from the 1970s.
The most successful moments come from inspired editorial decisions such as having Bissette ink Noah Van Sciver, or getting Rick Parker to letter all of volume 1.
Volume 1 also features some of the last published artwork by Herb Trimpe.
Both books have that classic issue with Floating World Comics books where they used edge glue for the spine, so it's still tacky five years later. This means that the book block and the cover wrap can get separated. However, they are complete and stable as is.
